2021年9月17日，IEC照明電器技術委員會和小組委員會(TC/SC 34D)頒布了應急燈具安全標準IEC 60598-2-22:2021的預發布版本，它在2021年10月29日關閉評論和投票后，將進入正式版的核準流程并*終頒布。
The pre-release version of safety standard for emergency luminaire, IEC 60598-2-22:2021, goes into circulation at 17 September 2021, the votes will be closed at 29 October 2021, then its final version will be official published by technical committees and subcommittees (TC/SC 34D).

相較上一版本的技術變更包括：
